Our members were very busy over the summer with workshops and gatherings. Their efforts are displayed in the many beautiful items at the first Show N Tell after summer break. Here are some of the results of our very talented and productive members!

Greta's ribbed cowl and seed stitch cowl

These rugs in a thick n thin weave with a mix of yarns, sisal, jute, acrylic and cotton were woven by Nancy

PJ's used Zepher yarn in the purple and pink scarf;
the purple and red shawl is a dented 4/8 cotton

Taupe/green hand towels and block weave tea towels in shades of
blues and greens woven by Diane H. and striped socks knitted by Patricia

Ann wove this beautiful 30/2 silk deflected weave scarf

Quail's Nest Studio Week - June 29th to Jul 3rd

Once again, our Guild booked a week at the Quail's Nest Studio for some intensive workshops and various personal projects.  It is a great opportunity to share knowledge and get in some visiting as members, guests or visitors drop in. I was there on Wed only to catch up and see the many dye projects in progress, a continuation from Tue! Here's a quick look into the dyeing process and the results.

We had a wonderful season wrap-up with our potluck and a wide display of talent and skill demonstrated by these Show n Tell items. I need help from my fellow guild members for more details and possible corrections.

Show & Tell from May 2105 Meeting

We're gradually catching up on our Show & Tell displays. Although I'm posting these at the end of June, they are from our May meeting. Terry will be giving a workshop during Studio Week on how to duplicate the Cocoon yarn that was used in the comfort blanket for Margie.

The Rip-Off Artists will have a display at the Summerland Art Gallery untl Aug 8th.  The last week of May is the Eco Fiber Festival in Okanagan, WA. And we've had news that a new eco fiber mill is in the works for Oroville, WA, only a half hour south of Oliver, across the border. Yvonne brought her stunning queen size knitted bedspread and gave us the history and how it was a healing project at a difficult time.

Spring 2015 Spinning Retreat in Osoyoos

Helene has provided a couple of photos from the Third Annual Spinning Retreat at the end of March, organized by Barb L. and Marg H. It was held at the Walnut Beach Resort in Osoyoos. Guild members and friends were invited to the Open House on Saturday afternoon which gave them an opportunity to visit the vendors. It was very well attended and everyone had a good time. The vendors were pleased too.
